Getting Here

When traveling to the Fort Wainwright area, the nearest major airport is the Fairbanks International Airport. Taxi service is available from the airport, and the Alaska Railroad offers service during the summer months. Ferry service from Washington State is also available from Bellingham, Washington to Haines, Alaska. The base is still another 660 miles from the ferry stop. If arriving by car, information at the airport will assist with directions to the Welcome Center.
